HOLIDAYS

Much akin to a birthday, Melonists personally celebrate the Ripeday of their friends and family. Ripeday marks the day you were Juice Cleansed (baptised) and officially accepted as a Seedling. A melon feast is typically thrown by your family in your honor each year.
Each year, we also celebrate Planting Day, in which the Victrovian Melon Company plants their annual seeds. This is usually celebrated by a small festival that includes dancing and a one day fast.
The day that we harvest the melons is Harvest Day, and we celebrate by a large festival and a huge feast lasting five days. We celebrate one Elemelon each day in order of their birth (Earthmelon, Watermelon, Airmelon, and Firemelon. To remember, use the acronym EWAF), and on the fifth day, we celebrate Melony. Melonists all over Elyria are encouraged to make a pilgrimage to the five temples on these days.

Another popular holiday is Vicmas, celebrating the day the Melon Lord was born by Melony's seed. This day is spent with ones' family, sharing gifts and food.
Our most sacred holiday is the Day of the Mother Fruit, celebrated on September 10th to honor the day Melony gave birth to the four Elemelons. While most of our other holidays are spent eating and dancing, this one is spent worshipping Melony for all that she has done for us and how she aids us in keeping the Elemelons in balance. The churches are open all day on this day, and the Melon Lord performs a ceremony at the Grand Temple in Victrovia.
